Really ancient or immortal X-Men Super-villians are just stupid.

Really ancient or immortal X-Men Super-villians are just stupid and lame. Or at least they seem to be in the X-Men books. Pretty much all the posters on the board agree that Romulus is a pretty lame villian and I, myself feel the same way about Apocalypse. According to to each one's history they have had several millenia to accomplish their goals and still nothing. I mean hey what is the hold up? Magneto is a mortal man and he is a bigger threat to the X-Men than Romulus and Apocalypse will ever be, and for the record I do not buy into the whole Age of Apocalypse future. Plus in my opinion Apocalypse's character design has always looked dumb because he reminds me of one of those off-brand, generic toy robots I owned as a kid.

The two immortal villians that I actually think are cool exsist in the the DC universe and they are Vandal Savage and Ra's Al Ghul.

Mister Sinister and Selene might get a pass from me because they have potential and are at least interesting is some respect.

I get that. I mean, Apocalypse has his whole "super ancient being" thing going on, but you'd've thought that he'd have figured out how to just assassinate the X-Men ahead of time, and then go ahead with his plans. For a guy with global plans for extermination, he sure lets the little details slip.

That's why I like Ra's Al Ghul. He's very detail oriented, letting things come to fruition in their own due time, and making sure he's got every eventuality accounted for (except for Batman, obviously). Also, from the animated series, how awesomely devious does David Warner sound?

Totally off topic, but I think that my favorite villain voices in all of animation would be a tie between Warner's Ra's Al Ghul, and anybody by Tony Jay.

I like Ra's Al Ghul because he reminds me of an old-style pulp magazine villian.

Exactly. He's a thinkin' man's villain. You don't get those a lot anymore.

I thought Apocalypse has only been around since the Egyptian times? I wasn't sure about the whole Immortality thing since he has been dead for awhile now. At least I was led to believe he was dead in Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force series. Whether I am wrong or right about Apocalypse being immortal, I still think his legacy and back story was handled well in Uncanny X-Force. I love Rick Remender's ideas and story telling.

Irregardless of his current status, in my opinion Apocalypse is a big glaring spot of lameness in the history of the X-Men. Maybe he would be better if he had a more villianous appearance instead of looking like some second-rate transformer.

I wish we had more of those type of villians, especially for Wolverine. Like I have said in other threads I think a new arch-villian for Wolvie needs to be someone who Logan cannot defeat by just attacking him with claws a slashing.

That is what makes Ra's Al Ghul so much fun, because in some ways he is superior to Batman and Bruce cannot ever truly defeat him.

That's why they made chocolate and vanilla my friend.

Different strokes for different folks. It's cool we have different opinions right?
