| Other Characters with Claws and the Lupines--Thoughts? | |

What are your thoughts on characters with claws similar to Logan's? Claw like Daken's and X-23's and Romulus'? I feel that they take away from Wolverine's uniqueness. These other clawed characters seem to suck away Logan's individuality. I detest the whole Lupine storyline. Logan being tied to these other hair-covered and clawed characters bothers me. I don't have a problem with Logan's brother, John, or Sabretooth  . What are your thoughts?

If you remember correctly in the early 90s nearly every team at Marvel and Image had a lupine character or a character with claws. Ripclaw from Cyberforce Cougar from Youngblood Goblyn from Alpha Flight Wolfsbane from X-Factor Feral from X-Force Warblade from Wild C.AT.S. |

Well they were careful not to do the same type of claws so they wouldn't get sued. X-23 and Daken's claws are nearly identical which annoys me. |

There was also Wildchild, but he was more like Sabretooth than Wolverine. I like the idea of more characters with claws like Logans. If mutants are a product of human evolution, then there should be some simlar powers around. |

I agree, jrpbsp. It annoys me too. @Cat: Mutants may be part of human evolution, so why don't we see other characters with Iceman's powers? Because fans aren't clamoring for ice-powered characters. Marvel capitalizes on Wolverine's popularity, thus Daken, X-23, and Romulus have claws similar to Logan's. I think it takes away from Wolvie's mysteriousness and individuality. I much prefer a Marvel Universe populated with mutants who basically have their own set of powers and abilities. There are a lot telepaths and telekentics which doesn't seem very unsual, but having so many characters with claws popping out of their hands seems to water down Logan a bit. |

X-23 I understand, she's a clone (And yes she's awesome so I give her a lot of slack. Plus the foot claw is a new and interesting concept). Daken is highly annoying in general so I do wish he'd had something different in terms of claws. Wolverine was unique for a long time so I don't really like anyone that is infringing on his area. They are doing this a lot these days. Hulk and the She-Hulk are now joined by Red Hulk, Red She-Hulk, Skaar, Savage She-Hulk... Deadpool now has Kidpool, Lady Deadpool, Headpool and Dogpool. I could go on and on but really they just keep eating away at their own ideas until none of the characters are really unique or interesting. |

Yeah X-23 is cool. And I agree with everything you said. Too many claw people, too many Hulks, too many Deadpools!!  I'd like to see some fresh ideas too.
