Speaking as a young woman, I'm with Templedog. If you want a decent vampire, go with Anne Rice. |

Rice's vamps are too cutesy-poo emo. Plus she went all religious and weird as well. No, you want a real vampire, read Dracula. |

Agreed, Dracula is a complete bad-ass. Remember his character was based on a Romanian conqueror. |

Who liked to put people on stakes. Actually a pretty interesting read if you ever get into the real history of Vlad. |

My respect for both of you just shot through the roof. Dracula is epic. ![]() Vampires as romantic interests for teenage girls were interesting with Buffy because it didn't take itself too seriously, but it'd cut it off flat there. |

I actually got into Anne Rice, because Interview with a vampire was chosen as a comparasion with the novel dracula. While I enjoyed both, I prefered Anne Rice, mainly because I enjoyed the historical takes and elements on the vampire's history. That said, her later novels were overall religious, so fair comment to jrpbsp. SOrry, sniktsnakt never could stand buffy. |
