I've built one... Okay, so that's not so much a thought as it is a statement. Real Life has managed to slowly kill all the RPG's I've been involved in lately (last one is in its death throes as we speak) and I'm dying to play more, so I built myself a sandbox. Figured I'd give anybody interested the chance to play too. X-Men: Redux It's loosely based in Cat, Gorvar, and my "New X-Men" universe, but in modern times. Basically it's a reboot, so all options are open. Characters can be updated, revamped, or completely changed. Originals and Canon characters welcome. The Doom/Mutant Massacre/Phoenix storyline we're currently working on can be ignored (except for the purposes of character development) as far as history goes. |

I used to do something like this many moons ago when dinosaurs stalked the internet and something called MUDs ruled the world. I haven't done anything similiar since umm... 1998ish? Maybe a bit closer to the millennium. Either way never did one with posts and such. We logged in as a character then did text typing interactions for the scene. That said I probably still have some applications lying around. I used to be pretty active as a user and I never throw anything away, so I probably have files for Logan, Omega Red, Creed, Cyclops, Havok, Rusty Collins, Empath, Cannonball and maybe a couple others plus OCCs ranging from standard human to a god-like mutant I made for an event that could steal and use the life force from people. So though I don't know exactly how much I could do, I can see about giving it a shot if you want. Update: I checked out the sample application and boy maybe you don't want me to apply. I think the shortest one I have is somewhere in the 60-70KB of text range and they go double or triple that. That form was around 7 for reference. Edited by jrpbsp, Oct 18 2010, 01:02 PM.

*chuckles* You're totally welcome to come hang, boss. That sample was just a "for example" kinda thing. Bare minimum, for lack of a better term. I've been doing these kind of RPG's for around 17 years now (wow I'm getting old), so I think between the two of us we can find a place for ya to fit in. |

I have been doing super hero type RPGs since the P&P days which was more then 25 years ago. (I am old.) Sort of depends on what you are looking for and/or need. I also don't really know the world you have built since I haven't read the fan-ficts you have been writing. A 'state of the world' post would be pretty useful. |

So it would. I'm actually working on that as we speak. As far as what we need? Bodies. Warm bodies with flexible typing fingers. Heh. That's really all at the moment. Well it would help me specifically if I had an idea what you were looking for so i can go through my files and see. Things like canon or non-canon characters. Long term, or temp/event or both. Background or featured. I have run up to five on a single game and once had a four way combat with myself for an event that needed to happen. I ended up killing one character I actually liked and infecting a second with a werewolf curse. (I specifically tried to keep other toons away from the event but they got dragged in through RP with people they had connections with.) |

FYI: You might wanna redo this section since you have a sentence that makes no sense. Looks like you forgot to remove one piece. Scott Summers, the X-Men's one time field commander has just restructured the Charles Xavier has begun to restructure the ever growing team's rosters into two distinct groups. The gold team consists of the more experienced people in the school, both teachers and students. The blue team is comprised of more defensively powered members, and those less experienced. EDIT* Okay I obviously read the post and I understand it, but I would still like to know a bit more. Basically is this a completely new world or does it follow the comics up to 'X spot' and then veer off. If I choose to do a comic based 'canon' character, I would need to know this so I can adjust the background accordingly. If it is a completely new world then I would still need to know who the X-Men are supposed to be and what their complete history is in this world. Judging purely based on the rosters you posted, it appears to be set somewhere around X-Men #1 (ish) but with pieces taken more from Morrison's run. (Ie the school). But with Archangel, Rogue and Gambit not on the list anywhere and Xavier missing it's hard to pin down. I have played in all sorts, everything from a complete AoA style rebuild to a specific issue number of Uncanny to break off from and I can do any. Just need to know these things. Example did the New Mutants exist? X-Factor? Excalibur? X-Force? Did they ever go through the Siege Perilous? Was there a Dark Phoenix? I could go on all day.
