Hey guys, as most of you already know i just got serious with wolverine collecting around a year ago. I'm trying to collect the entire wolverine solo run As single issues (still a LONG way to go)..and get the rest on tpb form. My question is this, which 616 wolverine stories went straight to tpb form? Thanks guys! |

Start with the Essential Wolverine volumes in the Marvel Essentials series. I know that they are in black and white, but it is a cheap way to start collecting. Also for a while Marvel was reprinting the short Wolverine stories from Marvel Comics Presents in tpb form, but they seemed to have stopped. Marvel is pretty good about reprinting most of the Wolverine titles primarily for the fact that there is money to be made. |

Yep, got wolverine essentials 1, 3, and 4 for the price of one..i used themas my bathroom read. Haha. But i'm trying to get the regular series in solo issues.. What i meant was that are there wolverine stories that were printed straight to tpb form and weren't printed as single issues? I think there were some..like bloody choices, rhene of terra, and into the jungle (the one where he finds an adamantium skull) but ii'm not sure if thy were also a part of the regular series.. |

I think you might be looking at one shots, annuals and minis here...But as Temp says, the Essentials do print the entire run of the series, complete with annuals! Seriously, some of the best Wolverine stories are in fact part of Chris Claremont`s run of the Uncanny X-Men (e.g. Logan raiding the Hellfire Club, Logan vs the Brood, the annual in which Wolverine becomes for a moment almost god-like, while facing Horde..to say the least). You can get real bargains on Amazon on near mint/unread trades! Alas, the Essential Wolverine trades have not yet completed the 90s beasty-noseless-Logan of Larry Hama`s run (probably because of the general dislike of fans for that arc). I have all the Essentials and I can tell you they finish with a cliff hanger ![]() Apart from those, be sure to get Claremont and Miller`s Wolverine mini. A classic and a real treat! And Barry Winston Smith`s Weapon X. |

but they were released in tpb form instead of comic form, right? that's probably what got me confused.. i've read some of the uncanny x-men stuff (through comic scans) of the 80s and i know they're great.. can't order over at amazon since i live here in the philippines and whatever bargain i might find gets cancelled out by the shipping..i generally just wait for conventions to get good bargains on back issues, i'll start looking for 80s x-men backissues too.:D big thanks guys! |

Oh, I mis-understood. I consider those prestige format one-shots. |

Yes, older stuff isn`t released in issues anymore. Hmm..didn`t Amazon had this thing where you order anything over 25 dollars and you get free shipping? It has to be straight from Amazon.com, not any independent seller using Amazon. But I know what you mean by shipping..I`m lucky I get to spend most of my time in the UK for studies..it`s when I build my collection

The entire first ongoing series is not completely reprinted in the Essentials just yet. I figure one or two more volumes and it should be complete. I do agree that would be nice to have all the earlier Wolverine prestige format one-shot collected in one or two thick tpbs. Marvel has does something similar when they printed the Wolverine: Spider to the Fly and other stories tpb. |

I would LOVE that A dream come true..or early Christmas.Flightmarco, if Amazon isn`t ok, you can try http://forbiddenplanet.com/ for trades. You can contact them about their shipping policies, they`re usually quick to answer. Alternatively, FP International http://www.forbidden-planet.co.uk/ ..although these guys are UK-based.
