So, I saw a list of the top 10 animated women the other day, and it got me to thinking. 'Who's my top 10?' I started this list three days ago, and today I finally decided that I can't narrow it down to 10, and I couldn't strictly draw from animation, so I present my top 15 fictional (female) crushes. I'm sure a top 15 male version will follow soon.

15. April O’Neil (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
The girl in the first cartoon I ever got emotionally invested in. By today’s standards her dull brown hair and her garish yellow jumpsuit with white belt and boots are absolutely ridiculous, but she was my generation’s Lois Lane (though not half as blind). Intrepid (and gorgeous) woman who spends all her free time hanging out in a sewer with a bunch of teenage ninja outcasts? What adolescent boy’s fantasy wasn’t almost exactly that?

14. AndrAIa (Reboot)
She’s the best friend who sticks by your side no matter what, through thick and thin, and stays your best friend even though you’re growing up inside a never ending world of wargames. She puts up with your man boy attitude and your sometimes thick headed decisions. She loves your dog. How is she not perfect?

13. Aeon Flux (MTV)
My introduction to the world of grown-up animation. My dad and I used to get up early on Saturday mornings and watch MTV’s animated block of programming. The thing that stuck out the most for me was the painfully thin, almost pornographically flexible woman with mind bendingly complicated outfits and massive…uh, guns. Yeah…that’s it. Her deliciously naughty banter and poses were what made my burgeoning hormone charged brain go “I’m uncomfortable in the most wonderful way.”

12. Demona (Gargoyles)
Definitely the voice. She was the first cartoon character that was voiced by someone I knew. Mirina Sirtis can make any character just ooze sex appeal, even if said character has big leathery wings, claws, fangs, and a tail.

11. Esmerelda (The Hunchback Of Notre Dame)
Definitely the voice, again. And the eyes, I think. I only saw the film one time, but I’ll never forget that face.

10. Princess Leia (Return Of The Jedi)
Seriously? Did you actually think she wouldn’t be on this list?

9. Jessica Rabbit (Who Framed Roger Rabbit)
‘Nuff said.

8. Harleen Quinzel (Batman: The Animated Series)
Oh, I do so love the crazy ones. Especially when they’re so unwaveringly loyal that they keep coming back, even though you repeatedly leave them to die as you make your villainous escape. Plus her costume just does it for me. No idea why.

7. Major Motoko Kusinagi (Ghost in the Shell)
First animated nakedness I ever saw. Freaked me right the heck out, in the best possible way. The whole film was a new experience for me, but that ending was entirely epic.

6. Hexadecimal (Reboot)
Oh, that crimson bodysuit, the sexy walk, and the porcelain skin…or masks…whatever. Apparently I really DO love the crazy ones.

5. Dot Matrix (Reboot)
The nerdy, financially successful, hot chick who hangs out with the slacker hero and her little brother. Yeah. She definitely got hotter in the later episodes when she traded up from her tan bodysuit to the black one. Black is always sexier. She was the first cartoon character that looked like I could reach out and touch her.

4. Kimberly Hart (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers)
My first fictional character crush. Of course I wanted to be the Green Ranger, but I totally had a thing for the Pink Ranger. Cute, energetic if not always the sharpest knife in the drawer, and a gymnast to boot? Yes, please.

3. Elisa Maza (Gargoyles)
Well, what is there to say here? She’s tough, sensitive, exotically attractive and a little bit earthy, with a silky, husky voice sweet enough to make any man drool. She’s a cop, which is badass enough on its own, but she also spends her free time hanging out with medieval monsters in their clock tower rookery. How awesome is that?

2. Mouse (Reboot)
It’s gotta be the accent. That’s what drove her up here to the number two spot. Decent looking model, if a little freaky with the weird orange hair

1. Rogue (X-Men)
Ah, my biggest fictional obsession. I was introduced to the Southern Belle when a friend of mine let me into the secret and wonderful world of the X-Men, which led to my subsequent love affair of with comics. I had my major intro to the rest of the team through the 90’s animated series, and she just stood out that much more there. The X-Men were misfits when I felt like one, and Rogue, who was isolated from a world that she felt an intense desire to be a part of kind of struck a chord with me. She was from the south, a bit misanthropic, and with a temper like no other. For me, a skinny, young, homeschooled kid from Texas, with a limited social life, it was like she was the perfect woman. Not only did she understand my viewpoint on life, she was pretty damn hot too, so...

Some of my favorites are in there!
Also one of my crushes was Bastilla Shan from Knights of the Old Republic.
Oh yeh, you know be all distant like you want, I WILL get you some day darling..

It does help that according to 'The Old Republic' she has a direct ascendant who might come from Revan as well....

Storm is there as well on my list.

Top 15 Fictional Crushes

1. Marcia Brady (the Brady Bunch) played by Maureen McCormick. Love at first sight when I first saw her.

2. Mary-Ann (Gilligan’s Island) played by Dawn Wells. Hey, I was like 5 when I first saw her and it was love at first sight.

3. Daisy Duke (Dukes of Hazzard) played by Catherine Bach-It was all about the short shorts.

4. Sarah (Paradise) played by Phoebe Cates. In a cotton bikini running around the desert, and then she appeared topless in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

5. Princess Leia (Star Wars Trilogy) played by Carrie Fisher-Hey the golden slave girl bikini says it all.

6. Shadowcat/ Kitty Pryde (X-Men)-She appeared in the comics when I was like 11 and I instantly fell in love.

7. Magik/ Illyana Rasputin (New Mutants)-The moody goth girl

8. Supergirl (DC Comics) It was all about the short skirt or short shorts.

9. Samantha Macelli (Who’s the Boss) played by Alyssa Milano. This a given because like every teen guy wanted Sam.

10. Winnie Cooper (Wonder Years) played by Danica McKeller. The girl next door thing.

11. Joey Potter (Dawson’s Creek) played by Katie Holmes. What guy would not want to have a cute girl that crawls in through his window and into his bed.

12. Marty (Beautiful Girls) played by Natalie Portman. Again it has to do with the girl next door thing.

13. Josie (Josie and the Pussycats) played by Rachel Leigh Cook. I just think Rachel Leigh Cook is so hot.

14. Jamie Sullivan (A Walk to Remember) played by Mandy Moore. What guy would not want the sweet girl in his life that loves him unconditionally.

15. Max (Dark Angel) played by Jessica Alba. I just find her attractive and the black leather helps..

Honorable mentions

Kara (Wonder Years) played by Lisa Gerber. The girl that Kevin meets at the lake one summer. She was just cool.

Nicole Bradford (My Two Dads) played by Staci Keanan. I was like 13 when this show first appeared so a crush developed.

Eliza Dushku in whatever she is in. No particular reason why.

Oh yeah. Only reason I ever watched that show. I remember one episode where she was locked up and asked a guard to scratch her back. The guy refused and I wanted to strangle him. How do you say no to that!? It would be worth the beating

Probably the only reason I ever read anything DC. A "male me" up to a certain point and crush-ish from then on.

Yep! :D
Can`t really think of 14 other characters...most of them I like because they`re cool or unique or because their concept makes an interesting point. And then there`s Nightwing (especially by Dixon and Tomasi).

I could pick 15 comic characters easily enough. Vertigo's Death stands out in particular. But going across other media it would be pretty hard. I probably had some cartoon crushes when I was younger. The Princess Allura from Voltron stands out. But live action just tends to make me like the actress not the role.

Hmm, let's see in the order I thought of them:

1) Death (DC-Vertigo)
2) Jean Grey (X-Men)
3) Jubilation Lee (X-Men, Hey, I was 15 when she came out)
4) Illyana Rasputin (X-Men)
5) Princess Allura (Voltron)
6) X-23 /Laura Kinney (X-Men, Currently the one I'd most like to be able to spend time with.)
7) Sheila - (Dungeons & Dragons cartoon)
8) April O'Neil (TMNT Cartoon)
9) Harley Quinn (Batman: TAS, DC comics)
10) She-Ra (Masters of the Universe cartoon)
11) Cheetara (Thundercats cartoon. Did anyone my age not like her?)
12) Megan Gwynn/ Pixie (X-Men, despite her being forced down our throats)
13) Zatanna (DC Comics, Gotta love that outfit)
14) Scarlett (G.I. Joe comics/cartoon)
15) Gadget Hackenwrench (Rescue Rangers-I had to struggle to find this one but I did love her personality)

I might be the only guy who didn't see Harley Quin as a romantic interest.
I saw her more as someone who's allready been taken by the Joker....or she was so bat shit insane I didn't want to go near here.

Let's see...my top 5

1: Bastila Shan from KOTOR
British accent, slowly warms up to you when the game progresses, kick ass ness and bad as ness in one cool hot package...what's not to like about bastilla?

2: Hepzibah from the X-men
No-brainer here eh for those who know me? Cat aldy who is all alone on this planet, her 'mate' not spending enough time with her....yeh, screw you Warpath, she be mine now.

3: Morrigan from Dragon Age
Bad girl gone wild with magic powers. Good looking to boot as well as delightfully 'evil'.

4: X-23
Same as with Hepzibah, also she reminds me so much of Summer Glau of whom I have a crush on. No tell Gf though!

5: Jessica Rabbit from Who Framed Rodger Rabbit.
I was hitting puberty pretty hard when I re-discovered WFRR. Comes to show in my choice haha. What's not to like about Femme Fatales?!

And now....My only 2 Man crush(es)!

1: Kevin Sorbo of Hercules fame
The muscles, the dashing good lucks, nice guy air around him...come on, he shoudl've been in 300, he woudl've kicked ass to!

2: Bruce Campell from Hercules/Army of the Dead
5 words, Hail to the king baby.
