On the sex content? maybe. But the violence has gone way up. I remember when you never really saw Wolverine slash someone, it was most just a close up of his face and maybe arms.
In my opinion that is one of the problems with today's society. They want to censor sex and nudity everywhere, but will allow super violent and gory movies like Saw. I personally find a little nudity far less offensive than a violent gory movie.

Then again films like Hostel and Cabin Fever completly throw that in the wind...

 I never got it either. Sex is more natural then violence. I mean sex enters everyone's lives but how many people experience real levels of violence?
