what do you think about it? any reactions?

in my opinion, the death was a bit unnecessary. it wasn't as if kurt had no other option but to die..since bastion was just going for hope, he could have bamfed behind hope then teleported away..though i did like the line where he said that it was worth it and that he believed..

i really hope wolverine will be the one to end bastion, not because he's my favorite but because i want to see kurt's death avenged properly..

It is going to be interesting to see how Logan deals with the loss of Kurt, even after he gets revenge.

It was called some time ago so not really a surprise and yeah I thought it was kind of pointless. Kurt has been through a lot worse trials then that and came up fine. This read more like 'Okay we are going to kill off Kurt, how can we do it quickly?'

I was really hoping to see Wolverine just beat the absolute hell out of Scott since it is absolutely his fault. Maybe that will come up later but Logan seemed to be less enraged then I would have expected.

i think it his reaction was more of shock and sadness rather than anger..maybe the rage will come later but as of the end of the issue there was sadness in his face..maybe he's feeling that it's kind of his fault again..

i like this reaction better, i think the soft "elf" reaction is better than him screaming "AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!" and just going berserk..

I liked his "soft" reaction very much as well.

He and Scott have had a lot of tension between them lately, more then usual. Scott has been putting Logan and all his people in a bad situation and Logan is usually the one that calls him on it. We have seen him go after Scott for a lot lesser reasons.

Most of the time when these things his reaction is fury too. Maybe not initially but he usually does go off pretty quickly and he takes it out on everyone responsible. This just seemed way too low key for what is essentially his best friend.

Yes, but it is a more realistically human reaction of almost wordless shock, and I would rather have that than the cliched rage and angry scream.

I know from experience that when someone close to you dies unexpectedly at first you do not know what to say or really feel.

Except that Logan is not most people. He has been in this situation many, many times before and pretty much universally reacts the same way. Remember Silver Fox? Jean? heck name someone. he is always very close to the edge and any stress tends to push him over it. Even after Mariko's death he reacted that way initially before sinking into a deep depression. And of course he has spent the last however many years getting revenge a piece at a time.

I am not saying his reaction is not realistic to people, it is just not what you see from Logan. Cliched as it is, I would have preferred a reaction that is his traditional response to losing someone he cared about.

Besides Scott really needs to have the hell kicked out of him right now.

what i meant by soft was that he said it softly, almost a whisper..not soft as in not manly..

it would have been nice if at the start of chapter 6 he'll call out and attack scott..with everyone else stopping him and reminding him of the things he told them like "revenge can wait" and stuff like that, though from the art previews i've seen it won't happern..

maybe the way they want to show it is that wolverine is looking at the big picture, he might not necessarily believe in hope but he doesn't want kurt's death to be in vain..

This is coming down to one man's faith (Scott) sacrificing anyone or everyone in an effort to justify that faith. Wolverine is not a man of faith really. His only true beliefs are in his friends and family. I don't even see him really caring if the mutant species is dead as long as his friends are with him at the end. So this is rife with potential conflict which am I not seeing so far.
