I haven’t been on in a while because I’ve been really disappointed with the way my favorite comic book is going. I did liked Old Man Logan but they are spreading him too far out, which is something I never liked about Hulk & some of the other comics. I was hoping that with the return of him memories, we would see more of his fighting skills. Once again all I see is Logan getting his butt handed to him. Not to mention they once again downplay his intelligence. Yes, I know that it depends on who is writing the story, but I would think there would be some constancy in the writers. I’ll keep an eye out to see if things get better I guess I’ll be reading more Batman these days…

Well, that is just what we have been discussing in a few threads of late. The fact that so few writers really understand what Wolverine\Logan is really about and merely depict him as the guy with the claws.

This is one othe main reasons I pray to God every night that I win a super-massive and obnoxious lottery amount so that I can buy Marvel comics outright from Disney and restructure the company so that our favorite comic characters are depicted correctly.

The Plan:

1. Win truly massive lottery.
2. Purchase Marvel comics from Disney.
3. Fire Joe Quesada.
4. Hire DiG and various other serious Marvel comics chronoligists to re-establish the Marvel continuty department to maintain product quality.
5. Establish edict that all stories must conform a character's already established history. If not we break the writer's hands with a sledge hammer. I figure after the first time or two the writers will get the idea to do their research before they write a story.
6. Issue follow-up edict that ret-cons can only be done on a very limited basis and must be at most a page in length.

Eventual goal: Create comics that are intelligent and well thought out that both adults and kids can enjoy that are no longer derivitive, repetative, or meaningless, and are no longer insulting to our intelligence.

Somehow we really, really need to make sure that you get those lottery winnings so the rest of these points can go down like you've listed.

If only.

Kind of doubt Disney is going to let Marvel go at this point but yeah they really need to stop trying to be 'cool' and 'edgy' and go back to telling good and accurate stories. I know they figure they have there old fans for life and only really need to try and appeal to young readers, but that's not true. Pretty much all of my comic collecting friends have left super hero comics from the big two and I have been enjoying more works from the outside too and cutting back on the mainstream books.

It’s not just the fact they keep down playing Logan. They have like three or more different books going on him at the moment. X-Force, Origin, X-Men. I might be leaving one out I’m not sure. In the past there was Wolverine & the X-men now it seems to be getting out of hand lately. It’s almost impossible to keep up. It used to be you could miss an issue here or there & keep up on the story line. I was more then ok with having just two but this is getting out of hand it seems. When they came out with Darken I thought this might be interesting but having his son kick the crap out of him got to me. Logan has over 100 years of experience on him, & here he is getting beat??? Get real Marvel!
I guess same could be said for most of those he fights. Every once in a while the writers do some brilliant like Old Man Logan. Most of the time they are playing to a new generation of people. It seems to be making the comic worse not better.

Yeah, he's in a lot. You only got the tip of the iceberg.

He's been in New Avengers until just recently. Uncanny X-Men he's a regular, along with Astonishing X-Men (whenever that comes out). He cameos in a whole bunch of other X-Books, and leads X-Force. Then he has Wolverine: Weapon X (which is probably my favorite ongoing right now), and Wolverine: Origins.

Am I missing any glaring ones?

Join us on the "Sometimes I hate/love Wolverine" threads. We go into the problems of the newer versions of him quite in depth.

Nothing glaring though he will be back in Avengers in May/June and he does tend to appear in most of the limited series like Doomwar and such but not too often in titles like legacy or New Mutants that tend to steer away from him.

I can tell you though, at least this month, he has appeared less then even Deadpool.

Which was a surprise for me; back in December it felt like *everything* was going to be starting in March, but I guess that's all that's been going on--just stuff starting. He'll be around more once things start to hit the flesh of their plots, I'd imagine. April-May I'm thinking we're going to have more than enough for us to handle.
