The "Sometimes I hate Wolverine" thread has been interesting, but also somewhat depressing. While there's hopefully light at the tunnel with the banishment of Way from the series, I thought it might be a good idea to discuss why the times that show why we love Wolverine--either through specific situations, things he says, or general characteristics. Old and new appearances are welcome!

Let the good times roll.

I'll start with a long list of pictures.

He's the conscience of the X-Men:

He's short and has an attitude:

He never gives up:

He's a hopeless romantic beneath it all:

He sure loves his beer:

He drinks milk from the carton from the Avenger's fridge:

For some reason, kids love him:

Ah! Found the picture we were talking about in the other thread:

(If you lot don't remember, this next two were when Wolverine was using an image inducer to look like Sage. Hilarious.)

I can't remember the issue but I loved it when Logan refers to Beast as the big blue cookie monster.

Let us investigate this picture.
Wolverine, who just crashed a SENTINEL, in the Hand's capitol, a cult of the deadliest ninja's known to mankind, is kicking all sorts of ass because they killed the son of a friend of his and used him as a puppet.
In the end he takes down the entire city, killing thousands of ninja's because they ticked him off immensly.

THIS was the moment i began loving Wolverine.

You can say whatever you like, but balls to the wall epic fighting is allways a good way to draw fans.

My favorite parts are when Logan is jus being a normal guy. Like when Kitty Pryde got transfered to the massachusetts Academy. She went to say good bye to Logan and give him a kiss on the cheek and he had a big goofy grin on his face.

That's one thing I love about Wolverine: he can mix with the greatest heroes and stand up to the worst villains that the world has ever seen, but he's old enough that he had a chance to live a bit out of the spotlight. Even if his life never has been exactly normal, sometimes I feel like he's got a much better grasp of what it feels to try to fit in (in his own way) as a normal person. I love those places that show him as a normal guy beneath the extraordinary exterior. :)

Logan is a very grounded person, and has an intelligence and wisdom that the others look to for guidance. And I do not mean that "bull$hit" about him being like a chess master playing four games simultaneously while doing genius-level math equations in his head. To me that explanation seemed extremely far-fetched. Logan's intelligence and wisdom seems to come from knowing the human heart, mind and soul at an essential level, as well as knowing what is fundamentally right. He is also the first one to admit that he does not know everything. Look at his conversation with Storm involving Marrow.

Logan's smarts are self thought really, he isn't as smart as let's say Reed Richards, but he does know enough to get a few wise life morals.
