Perfect Daken?

A thread for all of you who feel that Daken`s character could be improved. I don`t necessarily find the fact that Wolvie had a kid awkward..for a guy who`s over 100 years old, I`m a bit skeptical it`s only one...BUT, what I do not like about it is the way they handled his character...

'Oh, look! Another Weapon X reboot!' ....seriously guys....(yes, I am aware of Romulus`s overarching ploy - which is in itself rather unoriginal)

So, for me, the 'perfect' Daken (with a name change) would be more towards the secret agent side of Logan`s heritage. He`d be a wiseass, but less angsty than his dad, more proactive so to say. Also, I think it would be fun if, for once, a member of his family would have no claws or super-immunity, but rather improved senses and intuition. Of course, his immunity system would be better than the average person`s (he`d be one tough cookie, for sure, with a resolve to match), but it`s not like he`d walk away from explosions or bullet showers.

Honestly if it was me I would have made Daken the son from the Savage land and went with barbarian Wolverine, fighting dinosaurs and Fall Men. Basically Kazar with a healing factor.

I just got this mental image of Daken riding a velociraptor going 'RAWR' through a herd of triceratops XD
And he`d be drinking buddies with Kazar, heh, that would be funny.

Sort of like a return to the wild side? Interesting...

I always liked Logan in the Savage land so a Savage son seems like a perfect fit to me.

I could not possibly care less about a "perfect" Daken. The idea of this character is so poorly devised and so corrupt that nothing would make him interesting or redeem him in any way for me, and I hate that he is just more "baggage" for Logan. "He's out to kill me, but he's my son!!! Ooohhhhhhh!!!!"

Perhaps I phrased the thread wrongly...My 'Daken' wouldn`t go after Logan..well, maybe at the beginning, but he`d have ulterior motives and he`d most likely want him alive because 1) blood is thicker than water and 2) the guy`s a zillion years old, think of all the info!

The idea was to reinvision Daken as a compelling, original, interesting character! :D

Self claimed fanfic critic.
Erista basicly.
We fanfic writers were planning on writing him and Peter's kid during their adventures in the Savage land. We sort of went off to write our own team of X-men.

Sorry -- too late--Daken's already done. Doesn't get a second chance for a first impression. I still wouldn't give a flip for him, even if he were completely reimagined.

I have to go with jrpbsp and Gorvar in saying that if a son of Logan's were to be given the Marvel "treatment" and more attention in the comic books, they should have gone back and developed his son, Erista, from the Savage Land.

ha i bet Way doesn't even know about the savage land story. It would have made waaaaay more sense than to conjure up ANOTHER random japanese girl like he really needs more of those... so unoriginal..

I've got to second this most vehemently. I can't imagine what the writers were thinking when they created Daken and the only value I see in him is to kill him off in an interesting way.
