Thor's costume on the variant cover looks cool.
So does Wolverine's, the first one looks a bit like his first costume (the one with the whiskers)
as for others who might be joining...I'd rather like to see Beast. But don't see that happening.
It's possible that we could see Hank McCoy on the Secret Avengers team.

For males...well i'm going to give Luke Cage some time off to be with his kid and i would like to see Beast on the team, after all he left the X-men for a bit and traveling to outer space to get frisky with a green haired chick gets boring after a while.
Looks like Luke Cage will be busier regardless...

THUNDERBOLTS #144
Written by JEFF PARKER
Penciled by KEV WALKER
Cover by MARKO DJURDJEVIC
Heroic Age Variant by LARRY STROMAN
THE HEROIC AGE IS HERE!
The new era for Marvel’s always-evolving, always controversial team kicks off here! It’s a beginning, a return, a departure, and an arrival of a new artist (MARVEL ZOMBIES 3 & 4’s Kev Walker) all rolled into one in a fresh, shocking status quo! The most dangerous people on Earth are now all in one hellish prison, and the only way out is through rehabilitation and contribution to society via The Thunderbolts...under the leadership of the steel-hard-skinned Avenger named Luke Cage! So bring on the first participants: Juggernaut! Crossbones! Ghost! Moonstone! And…Man-Thing? Against the sordid recent history of the group as a black ops kill squad, can Power Man restore the Thunderbolts to their rightful potential? Find out as the entire series is revamped, and also discover why ComicsBulletin.com says: "Jeff Parker writes villains with his typical panache...This is why I read comic books."

I am surprised to see Wolverine here since he is missing in Siege but glad of it. I think seeing him as a true core Avenger can only help the character.

Beast is almost definitely on the Secret Avengers if you look at the blacked out character shots and it is nearly as certain that Steve Rogers is too. Of course I am going on record to say I expect Original Cap to be the new head of S.H.I.E.L.D. After everything that has happened it seems to be the most likely options with the Secret squad being his people.

Cage leading the Thunderbolts is a good idea too. He has come along way recently and I think he has what it takes to be a good team leader. It was unfortunately not going to happen in the regular Avengers with Steve and people like Bucky, Thor and Stark around.

Luke cage is one of my favourite character's to, what beats yelling 'Sweet Christmas' or talking smack hood style?
Also his role from member to leader and father was very enjoying to read.

I'm glad to see Thunderbolts is sticking around and getting a new cast too, the current one doesn't really work for me

I'm thinking that the Secret Avengers might be Steve's proactive plan to try and prevent the possible future he had seen at the end of Captain America Reborn.

I'll admit, I'm hoping Fury will be back (if someone has already said no to this, please have pity on the UK), but that cause you know Fury is going to screw you over, but you also know he'll do the right thing, if in a strangely roundabout way.

Fury before the Secret War was allways my favourite magic hat trick character.
you got no idea when he pops up, but when he pops up, be it Spider-man or Wolverine or Hulk or heck even Iron man, you know he got a trick up hi sleeve.
He is the Don, he will grant you a favor but someday, whenever he needs to, he will call you in to fullfill that favor.

I'm looking at the Secret Avengers almost like Fury's squad right now. The ones that go out and take care of things behind the scenes that are important but should not be exposed to the bright lights of the media. Not the world ending threats of the Avengers but people like Red Skull or Hydra or any of the organizations that need to be kept in check in a more outgoing sort of fashion.

SHIELD work in other words.
