I think most of those 'teenage heroes' ie Spidey, the original X-Men and such should all be in the 28-32 type range for ages. They do try to keep Peter locked around the late twenties though so he does not lose the 'young' appeal.

My friend who I let borrow my Origin TPB asked why Logan aged so much from the time he first popped his claws (when his mutant powers first manifested) to the time he killed Rose. After he first popped his claws, his powers kicked in, so shouldn't Logan's aging be slowed at the point? He looked to be 12-13 at that time, so since he was aging slowly why did he look quite a bit older by the time he fought dog and killed Rose in issue six? I thought it was a good question. Any ideas how to answer this? Logan has looked to be in his early 40s for decades. Why did he age like everyone else, like a normal person, from the time his was 12 to 18?

Logistically Teenages (between 12 and 18) grow at the fast time since birth (it's part of my theory why Mutant powers kick in then). So presumably either Logan's healing factor couldn't over come that.

It could also be that as Logan for the first time isn't sick, his body caught up on the growing it was supposed to do, or that as with his hair, his healing factor has a default he has to go back to/reach.

Worked in his favour through. Think they would have been more surpicious of a 12 year old who didn't age than one who could heal.

Well if you look at Wolverine: the end and Old Man Logan, he still ages but only very, very slowly.

That's true. That's why I (and my friend) wondered why Logan aged so quickly from 12-18. Thanks for everyone's input. Interesting food for thought.

i'm actually inclined to think that the healing factor doesn't really retard aging but instead it keeps one in peak physical condition..so maybe wolverine continued to age naturally as long as his body was still in it's peak condition, but once he reached right around 30 to 40 that was the time when his healing factor started to slow down his aging..

Interesting, flightmarco. So Logan's healing factor allowed him to age naturally until he reached an age where the healing factor recognized Logan's older age as something it needed to heal.
