I was just reading the tpb of the Secret Wars from the 80s and the characterization of Wolvie in the series just dreadful. All he does is walk through the whole series wanting to fight and slash everyone with his claws.

And that was his perception for quite a while outside of Uncanny. Most of his cross over and guest appearances were just bad. He was more or less shown as a one note berserker. |

yeah, the more I read of Wolvie in this series the more angry I become at the way he is portrayed, but then it is a bad series pretty much all the way around. Of course it was written by Jim Shooter so that explains a lot. |

It was pretty ground breaking for its time but then ground breaking does not always equal good. In this case it was just a new concept and interesting idea but poor execution. |

very poor, it would have been better if the primary writers of each title involved at the time wrote their own character(s) and dialog. |
