hey guys! ever since i heard wolverine died in ultimatum (i wasn't reading the ultimate comics) i've been constantly thinking of how they'll bring him back there without making it feel forced or through cloning. so i had this little idea.. - ultimate avengers have a mission that needs them to Japan (maybe to shut down a super-terrorist group called the Ultimate Hand) - while having a team briefing in Japan, some guy in his 60s shows up telling them that they need all the help they can get and he knows just the guy to do it..he even points out that he's as good as Clint in using the bow and arrow and also as good as Steve Rogers in hand-to-hand..(note that the guy uses their real names) - they laugh at his offer and when they try to go grab him for questioning about how he got inside the meeting place, he's gone.. - thinking that it will be an easy mission..the team splits up into two..sending hawkeye, ironman, and captain america to go against the hand while the others stay at their base to look for anything suspicious.. - they get caught off guard by the Hand who are actually technically advanced thugs who were injected with a rejected super soldier serum (the difference is that it works for a limited number of time and that the one injected becomes min-controlled) - the three of them were about to get injected with the serum but then one of clint's arrows comes flying out of nowhere hitting the guy in the head. - an explosion occurs from somehwere in the room, getting the attention of the hand soldiers.. - suddenly the 3 ultimate avengers are free and standing in the middle is a masked man (wearing something like one of wolverine's 616 costumes) - the fight ensues (the man doesn't pop his claws or anything) with the man using his bare hands..until he sees Iron Man getting neutralized and about to get his head chopped off..he pops 3 bone claws (Daken like positions) and stabs the guy in the head.. - Iron Man stares at disbelief (behind his head, he's still grieving at the fact that he killed wolverine) and his memories rush back.. - after the fight, the clawed mask man suddenly disappears leaving the defeated hand and the avengers behind.. - the three avengers stand in amazement when they hear a gruff voice resembling wolverines shout "don't dare relax. the hand has a lot left!" - the police arrives and one of them is the old guy, says nothing but "i told you so." - the three avengers return to base, discusses who he is and the possibility of inviting him to the avengers.. - during the conversation, they discuss his similarities with wolverine.. - captain america remembers a story from WWII..he remembers Wolverine having an affair with one a Japanese girl.. what are your thoughts? how about it?:D this Daken could be a closer version to the 616 version of Wolverine with him being a noble warrior which i tried to show when he used his claws only when needed.. or maybe you have other ideas about it?:D Edited by flightmarco, Nov 27 2009, 03:41 AM.

They are already doing an Ultimate Comics X series with the cover being a young guy with three bone type claws though they are in Logan's correct configurations it looks like it might be the ultimate Daken. |

yeah, i saw that one too.:D thanks to this site..but they said that it wouldn't focus on mutants..though i doubt it's true.:D |

Well it probably won't be truly about mutants. But with the 'X' in the title they are obviously angling for the X-Men crowd at least hoping they will pick up the first issue. I will just flip through it at the store and see. |

i'm not as pessimistic about it though..since it's the ultimate universe..they could actually just keep the name and change everything else about the guy.. |

This from the same line that gave us Ultimatum? I don't have much hope, they have pretty much given the middle finger to all X-Men/mutant fans. |

It all depends on the writer really. I know several fanfic writers who turned Ultimatum into something awesome. |
