My review should be up later today but wanted to do a quick thread about it too. Lots happening with this issue. Spoilers will be contained below.

Basically we got the start of the new three issue or so arc about Laura and her past catching up with her, including a very graphic torture scene for a mainstream book. Then we got the thread of Rahne and her Wolf Prince fighting Frost Giants which supposedly leads her back to the fold. Guessing that means bad things for Hrim.

Of course the biggest plot point was the official beginning of Necrosha with the raising of Doug Ramsey as a TO zombie. Not sure I am going to like Necrosha in general but guess we'll see how it pans out.

I was surprised at how far they are now going with this title. I know MAX has a bad stigma as does anything 'Adult' but man with attempt rape, murder and torture they really should just say screw it and make it a MAX book. Let Yost and Kyle have a free reign.

Anyway it was a good story but a bit hard to read for fans of some of these characters.

You're telling me. When I saw that scene with Laura I was in shock. I have never seen anything quite so graphic in a comic before. And that was on top of what was very clearly going to be rape. Very graphic issue.

I'm wondering what the heck is up with Rahne's subplot. Suddenly trolls and whatnot are coming out of the woodwork? I'm almost wondering if this is all in her head, or if she's being messed with.

And Doug is coming back. Did I call it or did I call it? I knew those covers were more than just pretty art (as per the usual standard for covers). What do you want to bet that unlike most of the resurrections during Necrosha, Doug will stick around? Again, going by the covers.

I have seen worse in comics, plenty times but never in a mainstream hero book. They are always in other publishers or MAX/Vertigo. I actually closed the book to check the rating on the cover to make sure it hadn't been switched on me.

Yeah Rahne's plot is a bit odd though we have seen Asgardian items showing up around the place (New Avengers this week) so it's not unheard of. I am expecting something nasty to happen to the Prince and see Rahne go psycho-wolf which draws her back to the team.

Well the Doug news broke a while back and was confirmed with a cover of him as a TO zombie (From here going to be called TOZ) so no surprise there. But his being the first seemed silly with a lot of more powerful characters lying around. I wonder if this has to do with Warlock/Douglock...

I wouldn't be surprised. The process used to resurrect Bastion's group was created from Warlock. That's the whole basis of the bio-sentinels we're seeing now from Trask in Uncanny. And if I recall correctly Eli bard was working for Bastion and the Purifiers. So the technorganic process he's using to resurrect these characters for Seline is logically the same. The reason I'm posing that as theory rather than fact is because there's quite a few details I'm fuzzy on at this point.

With that, it makes sense that Doug would be among the bunch, and explains why we'll be seeing Warlock again.

I expect Warlock to be highly annoyed too especially since they are getting the tech from his dad's corpse and then raised his best friend as a TOZ. My question is how would this process restore any sort of brain function to a years dead corpse. Maybe they will explain it. I can see animating the body but not actually bringing someone back. Bet the explanation is 'Magic'.

Well, that question would also apply to all of the anti-mutants extremists Bastion resurrected. Most of whom were dead for years. I don't believe they explained it then, so I doubt they'll explain it now.

Ah but they did kind of explain it as they were pretty much just puppets that Bastion was controlling remotely. No real brain power or independent thought required.
