Ok I officially have a new favorite comic book series. New Mutants is the best thing that has been put out in years. I actually read it twice last night because I enjoyed the story that much. If you ever liked the New Mutants cast from the 80s this is a comic you should be reading. The plot is good but it's the characters that take it to the next level. They have not been written this good since maybe halfway through the original series. Illyana got her chance to shine in here. Her and Sam were always my favorites of the NMs and the last few pages are all hers. Spoiler: click to toggle Anyway I'm going to review this one in a couple of days and hopefully can keep my enthusiasm in check but if you like these characters (or like comics and at least know who they are) you should be reading this series. |
