Now that I agree with. If you create a character for a company the company owns it and that's that. They take the risk to promote the product and reap the rewards if it does well and takes the hit if it doesn't. Unless your contract grants residuals then you don't get anything. And yeah professional descendants need to end. You shouldn't get to live on something another person created.

Exactly!!!

I am just taking a guess here but I find it a little convenient that a lot of Byrne's work never gets reprinted. Alpha Flight Classic vol. 2 has been on hiatus for years. There has been no mention at all of reprinting X-Men: the Hidden Years, She-Hulk, Superman/Batman: Generations 3, or Marvel: the Lost Generation. I am sure the man is being greedy and demanding huge royalties from Marvel and DC.

I guess in the time being we are stuck with the same endless reprints of his X-Men and Fantastic Four work.

I don't know about the Superman/Batman thing but for the Marvel side all those titles got canceled due to low sales which makes them not as high on the trade lists. Often times one trade will be put out as a test but if it does not immediately take off the line is shelved. They have lots of proven money making trade titles and only so big of a budget to produce them.

I guess they figure it will sell on the names with Wolverine always popular and Black Cat getting a new revival in Spidey.
