This is Wolverine's most impressive display of will power. He is the only X-Man able to resists the illusions created by the Citadel, design to give each of the everything they always desired and more impressively Wolverine was able to resist the Crystal of Ultimate Vision. He turned down godhood and shattered the Crystal, saving the x-men and all of humanity.

I love that part at the end with Logan remaining guard over the sleeping X-Men. He is the X-Men's Champion and I want him to always be portrayed as the self appointed guardian of his friends and family.

In british author, Simon R. Green's fantasy Darkwood's series each king has his army, but he also has his champion. The Champion is a seasoned warrior of unmatched skill who fights duels and battles one on one in defense of the kingdom. Cyclops and Storm are the Leaders of Xavier's armies, but Wolverine is the X-Men's champion without a doubt.

I agree with that opinion.
If i can compare it with let's say King Arthur, Logan would be Lancelot.

Of course it led, in part, to the rampant abuse of his healing factor in later issues, but such is life. Still a good story.

Is this issue the reason that Wolvie's healing factor was depicted at such high levels?
