![]() This is a big five way crossover between Wolverine, Daredevil, Mary Walker, Steel Raven, and a new Ghost Rider named Vengeance. (Vengeance was like a temporary revamped hardcore Ghost Rider, compete with spikes coming out of his head.) Steel Raven is just this generic female thug who kills people for money but suddenly can sympathize with Mary's troubled life. I am all against domestic abuse but please leave my superheroes out of it, I really don't read comics to feel bad about real life problems. =( The story takes place shortly after Logan got his adamantium ripped out, and it does have a little bit to do with his previous encounter with Mary Walker. Professor X hires Logan to investigate this mutant who is in a medical institution called the Fortress, the staff their apparently abuses their patients by drugging them and convincing them they need help. The mutant he has to save is named Jesse who has strong psychic powers. Logan frees Mary Walker from a asylum so she can help him save Jesse, since she can shift personalities and fool the high tech security system that reads "auras". Typhoid Mary ends up getting herself captured rather quickly, she calls out telepathically for Ghost Rider, Daredevil, and Wolverine for help. Steel Raven stops Daredevil and tries to kill him, while Vengeance attacks Logan since Ghost Rider wasn't around to accept the psychic call. Logan tries to calm down Vengeance and call a truce , but the demon is intent on holding Logan responsible for her being captured by the Fortress people. Typhoid Mary develops a third personality and escapes with Jessie on her own. Her first personality is Mary Walker and it is the helpless personality that needs men. Her second personality is Typhoid Mary, it uses men and it's is the seductive one. Her third personality is Bloody Mary and it uses telekinesis to create armor from scrap metal. At the end of the book she is able to create a fourth personality, thanks to the help of Logan and Jessie. The fourth one brings a short lived harmony between all three conflicting personalities. Steel Raven is too busy wanting Bloody Mary's help to take down the Fortress people to really help her sort out her problems. Vengeance isn't capable of helping Mary Walker because he doesn't know how to attack her other personalities without hurting the innocent side of her. Daredevil is the next best bet but he doesn't want to hurt her either, so he falls into the same predicament as Vengeance. Only Logan is able to break down her barriers and get her to confront her true self, which is how she is able to reach that fourth perfect personality which saves her at the end of the issue. At the end of this story arc, the new "Mary" accepts Jessie's company, together they vow to protect all battered and abuse women around the world. |

Vengeance![]() Real name is Michael Badilino. When Daniel Ketch became the new Ghost Rider, Michael Badilino believed him to be the same demon that had destroyed his family. He led a task force to destroy Ghost Rider, but failed repeatedly to do so. In frustration, he turned to Mephisto, trading his soul in exchange for the power to destroy the Ghost Rider. Mephisto made the deal, but only unlocked Badilino's inner strength using the "Medallion of Power". In his superhuman form, Badilino was called Vengeance, and originally attempted to kill Ghost Rider, believing him to be Zarathos. Eventually, Vengeance was won over to the side of good when Ghost Rider was proven not to be the demon Zarathos, the one truly responsible for Badilino's hatred. Upon the return of Ghost Rider, Vengeance left New York, and re-joined a special governmental task force. One of their first missions was to free hostages, and stop the terrorist. When they found the hostages, Badilino was shocked to discover that the hostages had already been murdered prior to their arrival. Badilino transformed into Vengeance and went insane, setting out to kill anyone who had done but the smallest of sins. Vengeance's actions were brought to the attention of Ghost Rider and Blaze and they immediately set out to show Vengeance the error of his ways or destroy him. Badilino however, realizing that his alter ego Vengeance was out of control, he killed himself, along with the villain Hell gate, by triggering a massive explosion through his hellfire. Badilino's death meant that he was damned to Hell for all eternity, where his punishment was eternal stinging by scorpions. Vengeance was discovered by Daniel Ketch, and Naomi Kale in Hell, while they were on a mission. After being freed by Dan and Naomi, Vengeance reappeared in the last four issues of Ghost Rider Vol. 2, involved in Blackheart's plans to kill Noble Kale. Vengeance aided the Ghost Rider in the ensuing battle, and Blackheart was destroyed. After that, Noble Kale asked if he could help him govern Hell with him. Michael makes a return to the Ghost Rider comics in issue 30. He is shown selling Johnny Blaze's old hellfire shotgun a man called Kowalski who wants to kill one of the Ghost Rider brothers[Johnny Blaze and Dan Ketch], Michael does not shown any sign of power. Danny fighting MichaelIn this issue of MCP Logan does get some good hits on Vengeance, but Vengeance ultimately shows that he is holding back. |

JESSIE![]() Jessie is a metamorphic empath (or empathic metamorph). He takes on the physical and emotional characteristics of those around him. He will even become more masculine or feminine based on those around him. Dr. Zachary Hoffner sent Steel Raven to bring Jessie to the Fortress for study. Professor X sent Wolverine to retrieve Jessie, to help him come to term with his powers. Wolverine convinced Typhoid Mary to infiltrate the Fortress in order to free Jessie. Typhoid was captured, but later broke Jessie out and escaped to a women's shelter. In her man-hating Bloody Mary persona, she flipped out when she realized that Jessie was a boy, who only looked like a girl when he was around a woman. Mary smacked Jessie to the ground and left him behind. Jessie found Mary wandering through the streets after her fight with Wolverine. He told her about the nature of his powers and said that he wanted to help her. Jessie told Mary that he liked being a girl and that it was for him like he was only trapped in a boys body. He told her that Wolverine was right, that there was still another persona in Mary and this persona was the best of all. Mary turned back into Mary Walker and went with Jessie to the psychiatry where Dr. Hunt, Mary's last psychiatrist, worked. Mary opposed him while Jessie turned into a copy of a patient who seemingly hated anything. After Mary had spoken to the media she took Jessie at his hand and left the psychiatry with him.

STEEL RAVEN Steel Raven is a master of armed and unarmed combat. She uses a variety of high-tech energy weapons, such as energy bola, which drains the strength of its victim. She is an excellent marksman, using both conventional and advanced firearms. She is highly knowledgeable in computer technology and is extremely wealthy. She was briefed on her mission, to recapture Typhoid and Jessie, at her own home. One of the agents placed a friendly hand on her son, which caused him to bite through his lip in terror. Steel Raven threatened the agent's life if he ever spoke to or touched her son. Steel Raven, after observing Typhoid (or Bloody Mary, at the time)'s actions against women-bashing men, found herself sympathetic to her cause. Not wishing to see Jessie become a guinea pig for the Fortress, she abandoned her mission, and even helped Typhoid to escape, by attacking/stalling Wolverine. She told Typhoid that Typhoid now owed her. |

This was around the time Logan became feral and Peter Parker was replaced by Ben Reilly Most of these changes were quickly changed back, leaving these events to become obscure and unknown by most new fans. |

Not many people liked the Clone Saga actually. Comic book sales plummeted so badly that Marvel actually wrote a apology to the fans. It went along something like "Please let us know if you don't like the story next time." Yeah. Marvel actually got on their hands and knees with that one and begged people not to stop buying comic books. Of course this is like the early 90's and they easily won the fans back with making Ben the clone and Peter the real Spider-Man |
