A Sorcerer Supreme is chosen! Be witness to a very important chapter in Avengers history and the lore of Marvel magic! Plus, the Avengers finally have a big showdown with the Hood and not everyone walks away from it unharmed! Rated A …$3.99

I think we get to see everything with the new Sorcerer Supreme wrapped up in this story arc!!

I bet those monsters we saw In Dark Avengers were probably connected to this issue.

I guess we'll see if I am right or wrong tomorrow.

Be interesting to see what happens with Hood after this. I mean we know he's not going to get the AMulet so I can't imagine his backer is going to be too happy with him

I really did like this story.

It was a lot of fun to read. And again I like how Dark Avengers and New Avengers connects to each other so well. It really does feel like they work better when read together, instead of reading one and not the other. I do like to see the good guys win, but I like to see the good guys struggle to achieve that win.

Plus we get to see the fantastic show Osborn is putting on, yet if you read his involvement elsewhere you are privileged to the fact that he is barely holding it together.

I admit I don't like to see too many stories focused on the bad guys. I'm not a fan of Sinister Spider-Man or Dark Reign's Hawk Eye.

However these two Avengers titles are on the top of my list, I really did love this story arc about the Hood. And who knew Bendis could actually make me like Brother Voodoo?

I did of course. Not a bad clean up issue though I am still not a a fan of Strange losing his Sorcerer Supreme handle. Still it worked ok for this but I am personally not a huge fan of magic in marvel so kind of glad the arc is over.

I agree that Dr. Strange not being sorcerer supreme is kind of sad, but he will get it back someday. I liked almost everyone that was on the list to become the next sorcerer supreme. Illyana and sorceress supreme would have been messed up.

Oh yeah if it had been Illy that would have been sweet although I really don't want to see her pulled out of New Mutants.

This issue was important. It was very important. It signified a lot of things, and I'll go through'em point by point.

1) The new Sorcerer Supreme... I don't have a problem with Doc Strange losing that title. For the past decade he's been little more than a glorified deuce ex machina showing up with a magic spell to fix any problem. Not a character, but a writing tool, and that's sad. Sure there was that wonderful little Doc Strange limited series (written by Brian K. Vaughan) from a few years back, but overall he was just a plot device. And it was good to see, not long ago, that Bendis picked up on that. All of those plot devicey actions he was used for lead to his downfall as the Sorcerer Supreme.

So no, I do not have a problem with Strange stepping out of that role for a time. What does bother me is the choice of replacement. Honestly there were hundreds of characters I'd rather see in that role than Brother Voodoo, a character I've never really cared for. Illyana Rasputin, the Scarlet Witch, Wiccan... heck, even the Hood or Doom would have been neat because it could have lead to some really cool stories. We'll see how this plays out.

2) Norman's downfall nears. What Osborn doesn't see yet is that his little Cabal? They were always going to betray him, he understands that. What he doesn't understand is how close they are to that already. Y'see, Doom, Doom has made allies of everyone already.

Before Dark Reign began Doom took in the Atlantean refugees and made a pact with Namor. Then he took in all of the Asgardians and made a similar (perhaps stronger) deal with with Loki. Now Loki, who is working with Doom, has the Hood under his/her control. And Namor and Emma Frost have an understanding as well, that we'll likely see more of in the future. That's... everyone. Norman is the odd man out in that group.

3) Some solicits have pointed to Madame Masque having big things in her future. It's very possible that with the Hood out of the picture she may take over the criminal empire he has built. Which leaves me to wonder if she'll also join the Cabal.

4) Head the Son of Satan's words. The end of days is indeed coming for the Marvel universe. The seeds have been planted for years by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and now a multitude of other writers are picking up on it. Be weary, the Unholy War (the name of this event) approaches.
