Well keep in mind currently this is an eight issue mini so it may have a single over reaching story. If that is the case then it is hard to write out a character in the mid stream. Of course reading the solicits, it sounds like it will probably be all self-contained but we'll see how they do it.
oh, I thought it was an on-going series. maybe if this one works out well Marvel will do other series from earlier times? At least I am hoping that that will be the case.

 It's basically the same team from X-Men First class, now taking on Uncanny. Like that series it is initially an 8 issue mini. I expect if it does well we might see another mini or even an ongoing. It seems like they are a bit hesitant though since the ongoing X-men First Class got canceled pretty quickly.

Uncanny First Class is a mini series? I always thought it was a ongoing

 if you look at diamond it says 1 of 8. It's possible that they will extend it but currently scheduled for 8 issues.

 Good. I would rather that Marvel do a bunch of short little series rather than commit to anything big. I think Marvel needs to clean house and get rid of the overabundance of unimportant X-titles.
