This is actually the third ongoing of the series.

This particular issue opens up with both Dum Dum Dugan and Nick Fury being ambushed by Hydra during what was suppose to be a graduation day for your SHILED agents. Nick is able to fend them off with the help of The Avengers and Fantastic Four, but not without the casualty of hundreds of dead SHIELD agents.

Over the next few issues things get very confusing, however I do know that Baron Stucker is out for revenge for something that Fury did to him. He somehow gets control of people who work within the U.N. and in turn starts to make Fury's life a living hell. For whatever reason he also sends agents to Madripoor to try and assassinate Wolverine.

Dugan and a few other of Fury's close friends think that Nick Fury has lost it. However they all meet up with Logan and steal a Blackbird from a SHIELD airbase. I am unable to remember the exact reasons why, but they found out what Stucker's men are doing in Antarctica. Apparently they are trying to remove a nuclear core from a old abandoned Russian ship. The last two issues basically revolve around this and Logan smacking sense in a outraged Fury

The comic is a little bit over dramatic at times, especially when you have Logan as one of the only people in control. The artwork isn't all that great in this issue either. I do like how Logan has a long history with Hydra, the Enemy of the State story arc makes more and more sense. Especially with all of these old comic books from the 90's referencing these small feuds between Logan and Hydra.

I do wish that it was explained why the Hydra agents attacked Logan in Madripoor. I know they were looking to kill all of their enemies, but you would figure Captain America would of been attacked too. I guess Logan is considered a bigger target .

i never really enjoyed Nick Fury comics, Enemy of the State is a exception, hence i'm not into Secret Warriors.
For me he's allways the guy in the background, watching EVERY super-hero fight and intervining if needed.

I am a big Nick Fury fan. I loved Nick Fury vs. S.H.I.E.L.D. Unfortunately the Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD (1991) series was not as good as they promised. There was an article in Comics Scene or a similar magazine that came out before the series was launched that promised more of a spy-oriented series. The article was almost cooler than the series. I was a little disappointed. The cover to the first issue was awesome.
