Found this on the Dark X-Men wiki regarding Mimic Writer James Asmus explained: "To actually be invited onto a team—and one working for the government, no less—gives him a vote of confidence that was sorely needed in his life. Unfortunately for Cal, he doesn't realize he didn't sign up with the good guys." In the same interview it has been confirmed that the first issue of Dark X-Men: The Beginning will feature stories about Mimic, Cloak and Dagger and one other: "At this time DARK X-MEN: THE BEGINNING # 1's third story and lead character still crouch under a veil of secrecy, ready to spring upon the unsuspecting readers who dare to brave its pages. Trust us, this tale's ferocious." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_X-Men http://marvel.com/news/comicstories.8352.Dark_X-Men~colon~_Deadly_Genesis I am glad to see Mimic crawl out of his self-pity party and join the world again. |

Be interesting to see what happens when some of these characters realize that they are the villains. |

Same like Marvel Boy after Moonstone told him i guess. Though they didn't had the night's passion beforehand.... I dont know if i should call him lucky or unlucky? As for Daken, i think he knows he's doing 'villian' work, so he doesn't care much. Same goes for Namor really. But Cloak and Dagger, Xavier, Mimic and Weapon Omega...yeh, they'll be duped. I doubt Xavier is going to be a dupe. Hard to trick someone that can see your thoughts. I expect Emma is going to get him on board with it somehow. |

I agree that was what Xavier wanted initially but he has changed some. I can see him joining just to keep an eye on the so called team though. I don't think Emma ever just wanted what is best for mutants. Her primary concern has always been for herself. Currently what's best for mutants helps her as a mutant but it's not her main goal. |

True again my worthy adversary... We still remember the Secret invasion: Dark Reign one shot where she still has nightmares about Kitty..think it'll have to do anything with this team or the future of dark reign? |

She is haunted by several of the deaths she has caused but I doubt that is going to be much of a factor. I believe she's forming this as a way of bowing to Osborn's pressure about mutants. After all if the current golden boy has an X-Men team then mutants must not be too bad right? To the general public at least. This will likely just be an offshot of the deal she made as part of the Dark Illumanti. |

Maybe she needed him as a little extra psychic firepower to influence the others? |
