I once had a long lasting text message friendship with some girl named Bobao that lived in Guangzhou. I got her number after I tried to call somebody who changed their number, and I guess she ended up with the old one. BOBAO would talk like THIS and capitalize stuff but ONLY occasionally with NO REAL regard for WHY it should BE CAPITALIZED. I know there are some big jerks up here too and wrong number stories have got to be out there, so share if you got some. |

I don't believe I've ever dialed a wrong number, so I'm afraid I don't have much to contribute to this discussion. :p |

Hmm...a relative once phoned a friend, but dialed a slightly wrong number. However, that person had so much in common with her friend (and apparently my relative with an aquaintance of the person she was phoning) they didn`t realize this until they were deep in conversation. So they later met and became real friends! Funny world! I usually get hung up when I dial wrong numbers. Or I end with Chinese people phoning me out of the blue. *shrug* |

It's also about people getting phone calls from people who dialed the wrong number. Which a lot of people have received once or twice in their life time. Just wanted to clear up that misunderstanding. |

Oh, well, I get those all the time. But they're rarely if ever amusing. :p |

I came home seriously drunk out of my skull one night at like 2:30 am and phoned a girl, Lena that I was dating. She was did not answer so I left a message. Then I called another girlfriend that I was seeing on the side named Rachel. She also did not answer so I also left a message. As soon as I hung up the phone after the second call it rang. I said hello and a woman's voice said "Hi, Baby what did you need? I miss you." in my acohol soaked brain I immediately thought it was Rachel and said her name. I was wrong, and it was Lena instead of Rachel. Lena was super, super pissed to say the least. What did I learn from this? Do not make drunken calls to girlfriends at 2:30 a.m. and if you do make sure you know which one you are talking to before you say their name. Edited by Templedog, Sep 7 2011, 10:51 PM.

Thankfully never dated two girls at once. Well I shall amend, never dated two girls at once where the girls were not aware of each other. So it would be a lot harder for one to get bad if I called her the other one's name. |

Also in college my best friend named Kasper had a girlfriend named julie. Julie went to a different school from us like 30 miles away and Kasper would call her every night at like 9:30 pm to ask her how her day was and tell her that he loved her. Well anyway, one night he and I went to the movies and were sitting in the theater before it started. Kasper told me he had forgotten to call Julie and wanted to use my cell phone. Being a jerk I said no and was teasing him and told him that I would dial the number and give him the phone once I had said hi to her. He told me the number and I dialed and a girl's voice answered and I asked for julie. The person asked me to hold on the line and after a brief silence another girl got on the line. I said. "Hi, Julie", and she replied "hello" in a shy uncertain voice. Still not thinking anything of it I told this girl that I just wanted to say hello before I let her boyfriend, Kasper, talk. Then without waiting for an answer from the girl I handed phone over to Kasper. He took the phone and spoke to the girl for about 20 seconds and then handed it back to me with a puzzled expression. As I took the phone back he informed me "That's not Julie". Apparently it was a girl named Julie, but just not "his" Julie. I had dialed the wrong number, So I got back on the phone and talked to this random girl named Julie for about 10 minutes before the movie started. She was really cute and sweet and very talkative and I ended up dating her for about 6 months. weird huh? |

Oh they knew about each other, Lena just thought Rachel and I were friends, but was jealous anyway. Rachel did not care because she just saw her and I as friends with benefits. |

Closest I ever had to that was a random IM I got years ago where the person just started talking and I chatted back. I did not recognize the name but figured it was a friend of mine with a new screen name. Turned out it wasn't and I figured it out later and turns out she had mistyped his handle. In the end though we did date for a while until I found out she had a boyfriend she had never mentioned. |
