I like the checklist on the first page of this thread :) I was wondering though if any of those comics had variant covers? Would it be possible to add a note next to them to mention variant covers available?

What was your favorite covers from the first ongoing?

Here's my top ten: #23 (John Byrne), #29 (Mark Chiarello), #36 and 46 (Marc Silvestri), #62 (Mark Texeira), #119 and 121 (Leinil Yu), #169 and 175 (J.H. Williams). My favourite is John Byrne's awesome cover to WOLVERINE #17. What a way for Byrne to say "I'm back!":

Was that dark reign story in the American volume? Or was it maybe a limited series, separate from the 1988 volume?

WOLVERINE: ORIGINS #33-36, by Daniel Way and Doug Braithwaite.

Just from memory, I can't recall there being many variant covers with Vol. 2; if there were any at all.

Dark Reign occurred in Wolverine's second volume which title changed to Dark Wolverine. As to that specific story, unknown. Nothing gives a real description on the story's plot line.
