Of course, this was long before he became an elitist and ran Ultimate X-Men into the ground because he no longer gave a damn about work-for-hire comics.
That is not entirely true. He did screw over Ultimate X-men.

But his recent Destroyer MAX series is pretty damn good. At least he isn't shitting all over established superheroes like Garth Ennis' Herogasm series.

I actually rather like the Boys in general. Yeah it's pretty obvious who he is making fun of, but still it's an amusing if over the top comic.

I skimmed through the newest issue that came out, it has women making out with each other in a pool.

I don't know which issue that was, but the nudity everywhere turned me off.

The correlation is pretty obvious. As Ultimate X-Men got worse and worse under his run he started becoming more and more vocal about hating doing non-creator owned work. Then upon it's completion he just flew off the handle and set the industry ablaze with his opinions that every writer should stop working for the big two and start doing nothing but their own stuff. There was no middle ground. It was quite obvious he was just running out the contract.

Destroyer is a different beast because it's essentially his concept from the ground up. The only thing the non-canonical Destroyer limited series has in common with the mainstream character is his name. If you're wondering what makes it non-canonical, it's not that it's a MAX title. After all, some MAX titles, such as Alias, were canon to the 616 continuity. It's actually because the Destroyer in 616 is gay.

Yeah. But it's still work for another comic book company that he isn't in charge of. So my point still has some validity behind it.

But I agree with you that his work on Ultimate X-Men was horrible. I said that in my previous post already. :amused:

Yeah that's Herogasm it's pretty much taken to an extreme that is a bit off putting. The regular series is much better to me.

And was in a longish term serious relationship with Union Jack II. I was highly disappointed to discover that this wasn't the "right" destroyer, especially as Marvel seems determined to write him out of existance. :( :nono:

I was wondering what everyone thought of the new vampire Jubilee. =)

I am not in favor of a "vampire Jubilee," because it just smacks of trying to tie a familiar character to a current popular trend. "Vampire this and vampire that...gotta follow what's "hot" now! Let's make her a vampire, too!"
