I did a search for this & maybe I missed it but I have always wondered if out favorite hero is immortal or not. Even at some 200 years old give or take, he only looks to be around 40ish. Given that he has survived being blown up by an atom bomb, shot stabbed, etc & unless his healing factor just stop, who is to say that he won’t live forever. Again sorry if I missed this somewhere in my search. Always thought this was an interesting topic. I am sure it’s a popular one as well. |

In theory he's not even 40-ish. The ORIGIN limited series portrayed him looking like that in his 20s. He's just a really hairy fella, and that makes him look physically older than he actually is. But no, he's not immortal. He might be if he didn't have the adamantium skeleton, but as long as that's part of him his healing factor has to dedicate a certain percentage to fighting off metal poisoning. |

You bring up a very good point, I think it depends on the writer and how much he/she wants him to age in stories that take place in the future. So far stories like Wolverine: The End and Old Man Logan show that Logan will grow old given enough time. So the general theory is that he will die of old age, it's just we don't know how long that would be. Do you have any ideas? |

How do we even kow that the adamantium even gives off any type of metal posioning? I'm not saying that it doesn't but I don't think it's ever been talked about that I know of. If he healing factor is doing that very thing then would that be a real concern? On a side note I know he's immortal because he ages more slowly & lives longer so by definition he is immortal in that way. Edited by norwood1026, May 7 2009, 05:04 PM.

They've actually mentioned the metal poisoning quite a few times. As for him being immortal, well, he does age slower than most. But the definition of immortal is 1. not mortal; not liable or subject to death; undying. However Wolverine will eventually die of old age. Every interpretation of his future self we've ever seen has showed some signs of aging. His aging is simply slowed by his healing factor. |

Yeah. Given that fact that he can heal from being severely wounded doesn't stop him from aging strangely enough. I guess that is because Logan has changed so much since he was originally created. But it was always intended that his aging was slowed and that he would never stay young forever. Who knows what they will reveal in the future though. You should read Old Man Logan though, it is a really great book. |

How old is he in Wolverine The End? I know that takes place at least over one hundred years in the future. |

I think in Wolverine The End he is over 200 years old then. |
