So do you think he is the real father of Logan or not? A lot of non canon work points to John Howlett not being his biological father, yet it sort of points to Logan having a good soul deep down. I would like to think if Thomas Logan had raised James, he would of turned out to embrace his dark side like Romulus wanted him to. Yet because of his relationship with his father, somewhere at the center of James' being he always latched onto good people. (Like Professor X and Heather Hudson.) What are your theories? Do you think the mutant gene comes from Elizabeth or John? |

Well from what I saw Dog did not have the mutant healing power since he was still scarred years later in Origin but his brother did as referenced by Elisabeth's scars. So it seems like it was the mother. |

No, I am not sure why, but I do not think that Elizabeth is Dog's mother. I wonder what happened to Dog's mother then? |

I agree, I always thought that Logan learned kindness and compassion from John jr. |

I never thought Dog was her son. That would be hard to hide (her getting pregnant) so I think any child she had would have been living in the big house and assumed to be John's son. |

I think John Howlet may have been the sole reason, next to Rose, why Logan has not become the killer Romelus wanted him to be. After all Elizabeth was a Hudson and thus a pawn in Romelus' game, and so probebly was Thomas , whom he foresaw as a X-gene carier that would give Logan his mutant powers. However romelus oversaw John's compasion and how he raised Logan to be sort of honourable man as he is today. Edited by Gorvar, Apr 30 2009, 03:37 PM.

That makes sense to me. Romulus would have reason to hate his father, if he was disowned for hurting his own mother. Reminds me of the Omen movies, where the kid is the son of satan and kill his parents. |

Is Logan even aware that Thomas Logan is his real father? We the readers know it, but did Logan ever make the connection? It was never really said outloud by any of the characters in the Origin story. I mean Logan was like twelve the last time he saw Thomas and I am not sure an adult Wolverine would remember the man clearly enough to recognize a resemblance. I am guessing that Logan has never really made the connection and still considers John Howlett his father. |
