I really really liked this issue a lot. For all of those people who complained that X-men didn't put up a fight, you can see that they were far from down and out. I believe if the fight continued without any mystical Muramasa blade, Daken would of been pounded in the ground. But as you can see there was more to the fight and there is more to the Muramasa then we first suspected. Also the flash back with how the Muramasa was created was very emotional. I felt a tremendous amount of sympathy for poor Logan. It's almost like my theories posted here are more accurate then I realize. I think Victor is really cool looking and I can't wait to see what comes from this fight. You just know there is going to be even more crazy revelations. Now where the heck is Ace? I want to chat with another fan!! Also... I'm starting to like Daken even more.

I did not dislike the issue although I do think they are giving Daken too much credit to even hold his own and the Muramasa blade is way over done. But the action scenes were still pretty good and yeah Daken had more personality then I normally see. Still a long ways towards liking him but at least he's slowly becoming a person. |

I think Victor Hudson is Sabretooth. Resurrected somehow, abit scarred up, bald, eh, but I think it's him. |

Actually he didn't hold his own in the end. He surprised them all, but both Nightcrawler and Colossus both knocked him down. If the bad guys didn't pull him out of there, he would of eventually been captured. Wolverine and the X-Men were already showing signs of team work and Daken was showing signs of weakness. It wasn't the one sided battle that we assumed it was in the previous issue. I know you and several others want to see Daken KO'ed and the X-Men standing triumphant but this is a story about how Daken becomes the next weapon X. Let me give you a example. We all know the Incredible Hulk is a lot stronger then Wolverine. So does that mean that we want to see the Hulk knock Logan out with a single punch in the animated Hulk vs Wolverine movie? No, we want to get our money's worth and see the two put up a good fight against each other. This is not that different from what happened in this issue. Yeah Daken got some good shots in on the X-Men, but ultimately he went running away with only a small fragment of the sword. It's all for entertainment purposes and it did a decent job. Unlike what Garth Ennis of Loeb did when he got a hold of the heroes. Now did you read Incredible Hercules this month? Because that is another example of writing gone horribly wrong. |

No it wasn't one sided but it was still a better showing then should have been possible. These guys have taken on the heavy weights, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix etc. And yet he still survived and escaped with the piece he wanted. It just seemed a bit unlikely. |

So basically you wanted them to pop up and knock out Daken with one shot? How would that be entertaining? Yeah the X-Men have survived countless battles in space. But this isn't real life and these characters don't age. They will always fight people they should of killed a long time ago. It's just how comic books are. All the X-Men got their licks in, that's what really counts. In a Wolverine book , the main Wolverine characters will always have the upper hand. Just like in a Spider-Man book, the characters in that story will usually have the advantage. Why else would Hercules of all people be able to hit The Sentry in the balls and get away with it? Characters always have the advantage in their own titles. |

I prefer they keep people in their power levels. It does not ring true to me that one person who is a hand to hand fighter would purposely take on an entire team of experienced heroes just because. Daken has resources there was no real reason for him to take on half the X-Men solo. I was personally hoping this would be an opening salvo in the Dark Avengers/X-Men cross over that is coming in June. |

That would be really neat. We do have that unresolved scene with Norman, so perhaps this is where Emma and Osborn deal starts go down hill. I think it's cool that the reasons for the cross over start here.

That's what I was thinking when I went into the issue. I kept waiting for Norman and his crew to appear in the fight but it never happened. Ah well, as you say there could be problems from it as it is. We'll see what happens next month. |

** Purely Speculation** Along with Origins #35, I picked up "WOLVERINE - WEAPON X Files"... basically it is an updated "Marvel Handbook" for Wolverine/Weapon X stuff. I flipped through this thing before I read Origins... I came across this guy in the back of the handbook named "Meltdown". He is from the Wolverine/Havok: Meltdown Mini and he (in this handbook pic) is dressed in all black costume that looks like...umm... maybe an all black Ultimate Wolverine uniform or the X-force uniform but all black. (BTW I can not find the same pic online that is in the handbook!) Then I read Origins #35 and Victor Hudson shows up... Wearing a very similar uniform and looking very similar to the pic of Meltdown in the handbook. I am not saying that it is the same guy but they look a lot alike. Did anyone else pick up the Handbook? Meltdown is on the 5th or 6th page from the back, top left. I know this makes little to no sence. I just thought it was very strange. |
