link![]() ![]() So who thinks the Silver Fox that joined Hydra was a clone? Why do you think she is or is not a clone? |

It's an interesting possibility, but now in WO, Logan knows that Silver Fox died in around 1910 and not years laters as an agent of Hydra. If he knows that, I don't think the second Silvor Fox was a clone because a clone means same scent too, so how can Logan (as anyone else) make the difference between a clone and the real one? |

We know that the second Silver Fox, from Team X, was active in the current timeline as a HYDRA Overlord. I don't really know much about HYDRA at all, but I would ask: What qualifications are needed to be an Overlord? Are there any examples of HYDRA cloning someone? She has only been depicted in the Team X uniform once... in a single, nightmarish flashback panel in WOLVERINE #63 from November, 1992. It was the only time that she was shown alongside the classic Team X lineup of Logan, Creed and North. |

I don't think she was a clone, as Team X Silver fox is described by Creed as (and I apologise for any offence caused by the term, these are his words, not mine) "mestiza" indicating she is of mixed racial origin, where as Non Team X silver Fox is very clearly refered to as a Blackfoot Native American. We don't know that at the time of Team X Logan thought that they were the same woman. That could have come later when Weapon X started messing with his head. (also as someone, and I can't remember who, pointed out Team X silver fox is hinted to be a mutant, possibly with Claws, and the chances of 3 mutants in a small 19th century town are extremely thin). I'll say I agree with what FA Shotgun is hinting. We don't even know for certain she was in Team X. It's possible that she was just someone in with a terrorist crowd, brought in by Team X and they discovered she was a mutant and decided to use her (that's my personal take.) |

As much of a fan of most of Larry Hama's WOLVERINE that I am, bringing back Silver Fox was a huge error. He seemed to do it to put Logan and the reader through the emotional wringer * when he lost her again because of Aldo Ferro's skullduggery. But the story of Silver Fox work's best as presented in WOLVERINE #10 - no clones, no silly big conspiracy, just a poor girl that ended up dead because Sabretooth can't stand to see Logan happy. I'm going to say she's a clone. * which I would say he succeded at beautifully, when Logan buries SF again it's wonderfully emotional stuff. |

What is most bizarre for the Team X Silver Fox is that she has a memory of going to a 1950s prom. There is no way that the original Silver Fox would have that memory or accept that concept as a memory. So I vote for clone or, as I suggest in my chronology, an impersonator. I mean, it had been at least 50 years between appearances. Who can remember a scent for that long? |

It's also never said that he recognised her by scent. After all, he was young (by wolverine's standards at least), and may not have had the faith he has today in his mutant senses. I have to agree, her funeral scene is beautiful (though I wish they'd expanded on the favour Waith owns Logan) and the story sparked after his return is one of the best. I'll admit the clone theroy is good, the scientist in me, though argues that in 1960's it wouldn't have been possible (I know this is marvel, but my head...go figure)

I have always wondered if the clone Fox had anything to do with the Native. Some similarities between the two: They both lived with Logan in a cabin, and were both lovers to Logan. It would seem that they both possessed retractable claws. (implied that Fox's killed Thornton with claws in Wolverine 50). The question is: If Silver Fox was a clone of the original how did Weapon-X acquire the DNA of a woman that died 50 years prior? |

Yeah this did happen. I wonder if they are ever going to bring the Native back again. She's one of the many loose ends that never got tied up. |
