You have been warned, these are big spoilers! The newest death count is below:
Some really interesting stuff considering it's been mostly X-Men dying left and right. If I missed a few it's because I didn't recognize their names. All and all it's not as bad as the last two issues. I mean this is Loeb we are talking about here and I managed to make it to the end of the issue without my inner nerd rage erupting. The way the characters deal with the death is believable , making it feel less like a "wow" factor when you see these heroes mourn and act desperately to bring back their loved ones. I actually felt really bad for Hank Pym and I think his exit from the story was cool. Hopefully the next issue is handled even better. How do you feel about it? |

It actually wasn't terrible. I rarely have kind words for a Loeb-written book, but it wasn't that bad at all. Only one moment struck me as particularly poorly written, and that was what Blob said when YellowJacket picked him up in a fit of rage. "Hey bud, it's nothin' personal". Really? Really? Is that really the best thing he could say after eating a human being? That's absurd, no one would say that in that situation. Heck, he might as well have said "What? Did you want some?". Actually, ha, that would have been quite amusing. Overall this issue is the highlight of Loeb's Ultimate work, we'll see if that continues onward with future installments. |
