Wolverine has a minor appearance in a danger room scenario, he appears as he did in Larry Hama's run when he was a feral beast. Only he has his mask on and he looks kinda cool. He doesn't say anything and it's only for a tiny bit like in the previous issue. I have to say that I love this these covers that all connect together. And despite the pointless Wolverine appearances, they all make sense and the story line isn't that bad. I like the idea of Xavier confronting the sins of his past. Everyone complains that these character are now crossing over to gray areas and becoming less heroic. But now we actually have a series when Charles is acting normal and atoning for the evils the writers have put him though in the past. It's a cool series with or without Wolverine and I definitely recommend it. With that out of the way I do like Whedon's "Danger" being the focal point of these last few issues. At the end Charles does find it and prepares for the final showdown which will be in the next issue. Meanwhile Rogue makes her way to her final destination, but since I don't really pay attention to her, I have no idea where she is going to end up. In the end this was basically a set up for the conclusion which will probably be in the next issue. I do love all the old references they make about the past and how it connects to the now. People who complain that the continuity of the past isn't referenced should get their kicks out of this series. There is a ton of nice easter eggs all over the place. |
