Have you ever given up on reading comics? Either because of finacial reasons or because you lost interest in them? For example I read somewhere that "DiG gave up reading Wolverine during the Larry Hama" run. I thought this was extremely interesting at the time, because so did I! But more importantly, when you returned did you ever collect the issues that you missed?

I certainly did. And it ended up being a lot cheaper because all the issues were in the discount bins! I also came very close to dropping Wolverine during the Tieri run, but I knew if I picked it back up, it would be a huge pain to track down all the issues. |

I was on again off again most of my life. I read the occasional book now and again as a wee lad, but I really couldn't call myself a fan at the time. I must digress for an amusing anecdote: from the time I was born until I was 5 or 6 I was under the impression that Wolverine was called "X-Man" and the X-Men series (which I mistakenly read as X-Man, being too young to read properly) was all about him. I was under this impression because at the time he was on every cover I had seen. Interestingly enough years later I was speaking to various friends of mine and they had all thought the same thing at that age. Back on topic... Around 1994 or 1995 I became enamored with comic books. I was raised on what is now known as comicdoms worst era. I began to buy them on and off, usually as back issues. Then I started buying regularly. I actually had a bit of a tab going with the local comic book store. At some point I took a several month long hiatus from comics only to pick one up while on vacation. I returned to my comic book store to pick up my back issues only to find that while I was on my hiatus they had gone out of business. It was a sad day indeed. After that I fell out of comics for years. It wasn't until the early to mid 2000s when I started back up. I started reading Exiles and the Ultimate universe and then gradually shifted into Spider-Man, which lead into X-Men, which lead into Avengers. Before I knew it I was hooked. I've been a dedicated fan ever since. |

After having given up on comics (Wolverine or other) for whatever reasons...what was it that drew you back? Some simply "outgrow" comics. Why did you return to them? |

In college there was a time when I had to wai to have them shipped out to me by my brother once a month. These days I don't buy as much as I used to and may soon trade-wait altogether (due to financial reasons), so it's more of a slowing down than stopping. |

I read them when I was young but was considerably more interested in fantasy books so I gave up comics because I could not afford both. I spent a lot of time from 12-18 in used book stores. I picked it back up in college mostly due to my second room mate. |
