I can't say that I enjoy 'Wolverine: Origins"... So for the sake of sanity, I declare this a curmudgeons-only zone! Anyone else want to join in on griping about the series? Edited by DiG, Jan 27 2009, 11:28 AM.

Surprised to see me here? For all my "defending" of Wolverine Origins, there are lots of things I wish were better. For example I wish there was a better character design for Daken. In fact the art work for the first twenty something issues was horrible. |

Steve Dillion is an aqquired taste, if you read preacher or MK punisher you cant really dislike him. I do belive it wasnt perhaps SUITED (and was coloured too bright) but it wasnt BAD. As for deakens design, I like it, its grown on me, it works in the similar but different to logan capacity they were going for. |

I like parts of Wolverine Origins but I hate some of the continuity problems it brings up. |

Brothers in claws, this is my first post. Sorry it took me so long to get registered! The original creative team for Wolverine Origins really turned me off of the series. I haven't read it since issue #15 or so please forgive me if things have changed to correct the following: I didn't like the Daken character from day one. At first I thought it was simply resistance to change. But I realized that that couldn't be the case because I really enjoyed the entire creation and development of X23. Then I finally discovered that it is the character design and execution that bothered me the most about Daken. His image is too over-the-top. They tried too hard to visually make him rebellious and full of angst; the punk hair style and large tattoos. Even the 3rd claw bothered me. It seems to be there solely for the sake of making him different from Logan and X23. It doesn't look to have any functional purpose, let alone physical support during use. These troubling aspects could be a part of the solution instead of the problem if they were executed better. If they would have worked harder to implement these aspects via character development instead of an immediate visual recognition, than they would be a reason why people would be drawn to him... exactly the reason why we are drawn to wolverine (a prime example of better writing to create non-rushed, solid character development.) I don't believe that the craft of writing and character development needs to be dumbed down for the comic book medium or the "main-stream "audience as they call it! Am I wrong here? |

I could not agree more. Oh, but you see Marvel has to "dumb it down" for their audience these days. Heaven forbid that the young kids have to read more than two sentences of plot per page. Let's give them giant splash pages of artwork instead so that they can just look at the pretty pictures. Edited by Templedog, Feb 4 2009, 08:00 PM.

LOL that's a funny one. As for me, I don't think I should add something more here, in Wolverine Files, I think I made pretty clear my feelings not only about Origins but also about D. Way. Anyway, EmperorVamp and templedog09 have made very vaild arguments here. |

Marvel does this in all of their titles. One more Day and Brand New day are perfect examples. |

I think that the artwork made Wolvie look too much like Frank Castle. |
